Kindergarten:
One 40 minute period per week. Projects often go along with curriculum. Kid Pix Deluxe 3, Kidspiration and Type to Learn Jr. are the most used software. Type to Learn Jr. teaches the children that all left hand keys are colored red and they should use left hand and purple keys are for their right hand. Kid Pix is a drawing/writing program that is very child friendly. Kidspiration teaches higher level thinking skills.

First Grade:
Two 40 minute periods per week. Kid Pix Deluxe 3, Kidspiration AppleWorks 6 and Type to Learn Jr. are the most used software. The children are learning how to highlight text and change font and size and color. They also know how to copy and paste text.

Second Grade:
Two 40 minute periods per week. Kid Pix Deluxe 3, Kidspiration AppleWorks 6 Power Point and New Keys for Kids are the most used software. New Keys for Kids teaches home row for typing. By second grade the children should be typing with both hands on the keyboard. We just finished their first PowerPoint presentation on Compound Words. They typed, imported graphics, and added animation and sound. We will soon be doing another PowerPoint project.

Third Grade:
One 40 minute period per week. Kid Pix Deluxe 3, Kidspiration AppleWorks 6 Power Point and New Keys for Kids are the most used software. The children recently made a PowerPoint presentation on The Solar System. They typed, imported graphics, and added animation and sound. We will soon be doing another PowerPoint project. They also are learning to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
