WARETOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Waretown Elementary School where our motto is “An Ocean of Pride”!   We have a fantastic staff, wonderful students and supportive parents.  It is truly an honor to be the Principal of the Waretown Elementary School.  Our mission is to encourage our students to explore new dimensions by providing them with real life experiences.  By meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of our students they will be better prepared to meet the unique challenges in the next level of their formal education.

In addition to our emphasis on academics and problem-solving we promote volunteerism, patriotism, community service and fund raising initiatives such as The Citizenship Club, Intergenerational Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Pennies For Patients to name a few.  Each month our students are recognized as Student of the Month and Citizen of the Month.  Our school also offers such clubs as the Young Einstein and Fun/Fitness.  These groups meet after school.  Please check your Mariner for updates about these activities.

I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education. Our Educational Council provides a forum for you to discuss school wide initiatives, curriculum, state testing, and school level plans. Educational Council Meetings are held in the Waretown Elementary School Library. These meetings will be announced in the Mariner.

The Ocean Township PTA meets the second Monday of the month in the Frederic A. Priff Library at 7:15 PM. This is a group of dedicated and hard working parents that provide additional activities for our students.   We are certainly grateful for all that they do for our school.

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to a happy, exciting and successful school year.

 Educationally yours,

Diana V. MacKenzie
