Twenty-six 5th & 6th grade students participated in the cubes in Space program this year. The program is a worldwide competition between students in all grade levels hosted by idoodlelearning.com and NASA. The groups broke apart in 5 different teams and submitted their proposals for flight into space aboard the SR-6 mission (a NASA Sounding Rocket) and the RB-5 mission (a NASA Research Balloon). The experiments included subjecting soil and plant-life to the effects of radiation during flight, and the effects of decreased gravity on the passage of time. We are happy to announce that ALL five proposals were accepted and will be flying aboard the flight!! They are currently hard at work developing and building their experiments within the 64 cm³ cubes.
